Ajax FireProtect 2 RB
Replaceable Batteries
(7 Years of Operation)

Ajax FireProtect 2 RB – Replaceable Batteries with up to 7 years of operation.

FireProtect 2 RB has replaceable batteries. This type of detector operates for up to 7 years from pre-installed batteries. After the batteries are discharged, you can replace them with new ones.

The Ajax FireProtect 2 RB Heat, Smoke & CO detector, with replaceable batteries, is a flagship product in fire safety innovation. Combining smoke, temperature, and carbon monoxide detection in one device, it uses advanced sensor technology to provide a comprehensive early warning system, ensuring your home or workplace is protected from potential hazards.

SMOKE DETECTION:

FireProtect 2 detects smoke and does not react to water vapour thanks to a dual-spectrum optical sensor with blue and infrared LEDs. LEDs emit light with different wavelengths, which allows the detector to determine the size of the volatile particles and react only to smoke.

HEAT DETECTION:

Two built-in thermistors are responsible for the reaction to temperature rise. Thermistors are located outside the detector for faster threat detection. If the room temPerature exceeds +64°C or increases at more than 10°C within a minute, the detector recognizes this as a rapid temperature rise and raises the alarm.

CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTION:

A built-in chemical sensor with a service life of at least 10 years is responsible for detecting dangerous concentrations of carbon monoxide in the FireProtect 2. Ajax carbon monoxide detectors are designed to last for this period, after which they should be replaced to ensure reliable detection.

  • Ajax FireProtect 2 RB (CO): Detects dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.

  • Ajax FireProtect 2 RB (Heat): Sensitive to rapid temperature increases.

  • Ajax FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/CO): Combines heat and carbon monoxide detection.

  • Ajax FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke): Offers heat and smoke detection.

  • Ajax FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke/CO): A detector for heat, smoke, and carbon monoxide.

FireProtect 2 Mute

Interconnected Fire Detectors: FireProtect 2 detectors have an improved interconnected fire alarm algorithm that activates all fire detectors’ sirens within 20 seconds. This function is available only when the detectors operate with the hub.

Maintenance-Free Operation: A self-test system automatically diagnoses sensor states, with easy testing options available via the Ajax apps.

Low battery warning: The detector reports low batteries at least 30 days before its full discharge. Users get notifications from their Ajax app. Also, FireProtect 2 has an LED indicator and audible beeps for a low battery alert.

To mute interconnected fire detectors, use the Ajax app or press the central part of the detectors’ front panel with your hand or a suitable object, such as a mop handle.

The detector supports manual testing mode. It is activated by pressing the device’s front panel. The front panel has a mechanical button, which can be pressed either manually or with a floor mop. During the test, the built-in siren and testing of sensors are run.

Available in black and white.

Mains Fire Alarm Locations in Your Home

Installing mains-powered fire alarms is crucial for ensuring the safety of your household. These alarms are directly connected to your home’s electrical system and include backup batteries to operate in case of power outages. Proper placement of these alarms is essential to maximise their effectiveness in detecting smoke or fire early on.

Recommended Locations for Mains Fire Alarms:

1. Hallways and Landings:
– Install smoke alarms in all main corridors, stairways, and landings.
– Place them centrally on the ceiling to ensure maximum coverage and within 3 metres of any inhabitable room.

2. Living Rooms and Bedrooms:
– It’s advisable to have a fire alarm in every living room and each bedroom.
– Mount alarms on the ceiling or high on the wall, away from corners.

3. Kitchen:
– Position a heat alarm in the kitchen to detect rapid temperature changes rather than smoke.
– Install it away from cooking appliances to avoid false alarms.

4. Basements and Attics:
– If applicable, install smoke alarms in basements and attics where fires can start unnoticed.

By strategically placing mains fire alarms throughout your home, you significantly increase your household’s safety against fire hazards.
