Securing Your Ajax Installation with Deposit
✅ A deposit is required to confirm all bookings. This secures the scheduled installation date and allows us to order and prepare the necessary equipment in advance. Once the deposit is received, we will place orders with our Ajax authorised UK distributors and confirm your installation date. The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of the work and before our engineer leaves the premises. Ownership of the installed hardware remains with N.S.L Security Systems Ltd until full payment has been received.
Timeline Expectations
✅ We always aim to meet our promised timelines. However, factors such as late payment of the deposit, weather conditions, supply challenges, client requested changes, or periods that fall during bank or seasonal holidays may affect installation or delivery schedules. During peak busy periods, timelines may be longer. After the deposit has been made, we typically need around one to two weeks of notice for small to medium-sized installations, or around two weeks for larger projects, depending on the service and the design and size of the security system. We will keep you informed if any delays arise and will work with you to adjust the schedule if needed.
Lead Time for Larger Projects
✅ For larger installations, please allow additional time for ordering hardware and preparing materials before the installation date is confirmed. This preparation typically takes around three to four weeks after the deposit has been made, depending on the service and the design and size of the security system.

✅ We’re proud to provide free remote technical support through our Ajax App, a valuable service that many other providers charge for. Using our secure, company-branded app, our team can connect to your Ajax security system remotely to deliver fast, expert assistance whenever you need it. In most cases, issues can be resolved quickly without the need for a call-out, saving you both time and money.
Free Ajax Mobile App – No Subscription Fees
✅ The Ajax mobile app is completely free to use, with no hidden costs or ongoing subscription fees. Once installed, you can access and control your Ajax system directly from your mobile device, giving you peace of mind and full control over your security without any extra charges.
Two-Year Ajax Manufacturer’s Warranty
✅ Your Ajax security system is covered by a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, providing peace of mind and confidence in your investment.
✅ Any hardware faults identified within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced free of charge. The warranty covers the replacement of the faulty equipment only.
✅ Please note that engineer call-out charges apply to site visits, including visits required for warranty replacements. The manufacturer’s warranty covers the hardware itself but does not include labour, travel, or installation time required to attend the property and carry out the replacement.
✅ Call-out charges may vary depending on distance, service required, or out-of-hours attendance. Please refer to your quotation or our terms and conditions for the current call-out rates.
✅ If replacement parts are required outside of the warranty period, these will be supplied at cost, ensuring transparency and fairness in any additional charges.
Call-Out Service
✅ Our standard call-out fee applies to locations within Leeds and West Yorkshire. This fee covers travel, on-site assessment, and minor adjustments or basic troubleshooting during the visit, including warranty-related replacements where applicable.
✅ For locations outside our standard service area, additional charges may apply to cover extended travel time and distance. In these cases, the applicable call-out fee will be confirmed upon enquiry.
✅ If additional work or troubleshooting is required beyond the initial visit, it will be discussed and agreed with you in advance and carried out at our standard hourly rate.
✅ If a return visit is required due to factors outside our control, such as environmental conditions, third-party equipment, or site-specific issues, the standard call-out charge will apply.
Ajax Professional Installation, Placement & System Considerations
✅ As part of our Ajax installation service, we carefully plan the optimal locations for all system components, including motion detectors, hubs, keypads, and signal range extenders. Correct positioning ensures reliable detection, strong communication, and overall system performance.
✅ We will always discuss placement options with you and take your preferences into account, particularly if you would like devices positioned as discreetly as possible. However, some equipment must be installed in specific locations to function correctly. Ajax systems rely on secure radio communication, meaning certain devices must be positioned where they receive the strongest signal and provide the best coverage.
✅ Building materials such as metal structures, reinforced concrete, mirrored glass, pool areas, or steel cladding can affect wireless signals. In some cases, this may require adjustments to device placement or the use of additional equipment such as Ajax Rex range extenders.
✅ Environmental conditions such as humidity, heat, rainwater flow, or condensation may also influence installation methods. Where required, we may use protective measures such as weather-sealed back boxes, drainage solutions, or alternative mounting techniques.
✅ While we aim to keep installations as discreet as possible, fully concealing devices is not always achievable without compromising performance. Attempting to hide equipment may reduce signal strength, affect detection reliability, or require additional hardware.
✅ If devices are relocated after installation for aesthetic reasons or changes to the property, this may impact system performance and may require additional engineering work. Such work will be subject to standard call-out and labour charges.
Network Requirements & Configuration
✅ All Ajax and associated network-connected devices are configured using DHCP (automatic IP addressing) as standard. Static IP configuration is not used.
✅ We supply and install our own gigabit PoE network switch as part of the system. Security equipment is not connected to customer-provided switches.
✅ A free Ethernet port must be available on the client’s router to provide an uplink connection to our PoE switch.
✅ Where required, we will supply and install a suitable data cabinet to house equipment such as the PoE switch, NVR, and associated hardware, ensuring a secure and professional installation.
✅ Where necessary, DHCP reservations or router configuration may be recommended to ensure stable and consistent network performance.
✅ On IT-managed or complex networks, any required configuration changes must be carried out by the client’s IT provider.
✅ We are not responsible for issues arising from third-party network equipment, internet service providers, or changes made to the network after installation. Additional visits or support required to resolve such issues may be chargeable.
System Responsibility After Handover
✅ Once the Ajax system installation has been completed and handed over, the system is considered fully operational and accepted by the client.
✅ It is the client’s responsibility to ensure the system is used correctly, including arming and disarming the system when required and responding to any system notifications or alerts.
✅ The client should also ensure that devices remain powered, connected to the network, and free from obstruction or damage.
✅ If system notifications such as low battery warnings, communication faults, or device alerts are ignored, this may affect the performance of the system.
✅ If devices are moved, removed, damaged, disconnected, or interfered with after installation, this may result in system faults or reduced protection.
✅ We are always happy to assist with troubleshooting or system adjustments; however, engineer visits after handover are subject to standard call-out and labour charges unless covered by an active maintenance agreement.
Network Requirements for Residential and Larger Installations
✅ For residential installations, it may be necessary to separate your Wi-Fi network into 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to ensure certain devices, such as the Ajax Systems doorbell, connect reliably. Where router access is available, we can usually assist with this configuration on the day of installation. Please note that this depends on the router model.
✅ For larger or more complex installations, it may be necessary to configure DHCP reservations for key security devices. In these cases, we will provide a list of all IP addresses required for your Ajax hardware on site. This information can then be passed to your IT provider or network administrator to configure, as network infrastructure changes must be carried out by the site’s responsible IT team. This process helps ensure stable communication between devices, reliable remote access, and consistent monitoring performance across your system.
System Changes & Third-Party Equipment
✅ Once installed and commissioned, the Ajax system is configured to operate with the existing network, power supply, and device layout at the time of installation.
✅ If equipment such as routers, switches, power supplies, smart home controllers, or connected devices are moved, replaced, unplugged, or reconfigured, this may affect the operation of the security system.
✅ Changes made by third-party contractors, IT providers, electricians, smart home installers, or the property owner may cause system faults, communication issues, or device disconnections.
✅ In these situations, we are happy to attend and assist with troubleshooting or reconfiguration; however, standard call-out and labour charges will apply.
✅ For larger installations involving IT-managed networks or smart home platforms, ongoing system stability may depend on the correct configuration and maintenance of the network infrastructure.
System Integrity & Network Responsibility
✅ All systems are professionally configured, tested, and handed over fully operational.
✅ Where administrative access is provided to clients or third parties, either permanently or temporarily, any subsequent changes to system or network configuration fall outside of the original installation scope.
✅ Any faults arising from such changes may require additional support or call-out services.
