Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions Between you (‘the customer’) and N.S.L Security Systems LTD,

PURPOSE

1.1 The installed security system is designed to reduce the risk of loss or damage to your premises so far as this can be done by the use of this type of equipment. However, we do not guarantee that the system cannot be removed, tampered with or made to stop working by you or any unauthorised person. Should this happen, N.S.L Security Systems Ltd are not responsible for any losses you may suffer directly or indirectly.

PAYMENT

2.1 Deposit. A deposit of up to 70% of the agreed cost of the work will be required when the order for installation is placed. Once the deposit has been received, we will place orders with our authorised UK distributors and confirm your installation date. Orders will not be booked or processed until the deposit has cleared. The hardware will be pre-configured before arriving on site.

2.2 Non-Refundable Deposit and Cooling-Off Rights. If you are a consumer purchasing at a distance (for example online, by telephone, or off-premises), you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. However, by paying the deposit you expressly request and agree that we may immediately order and begin preparing the required hardware. This preparation involves purchasing from our authorised UK distributors and, where necessary, opening manufacturer seals, powering on or activating equipment, and carrying out pre-configuration. Once this process has begun, your statutory right to cancel no longer applies in respect of that hardware. For this reason, all deposits paid towards hardware are strictly non-refundable once orders have been placed and/or hardware has been prepared.

2.3 Service Plan Cancellations (Cooling-Off Period). If you choose to cancel a service plan subscription arranged online, by telephone, or off-premises, you are entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. During this period, you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund, provided that no services have been provided within that period with your express consent.

2.4 Balance Payment. The balance is payable in full immediately upon completion of the work by our service engineer, and before our engineer leaves your premises. Ownership of the installed hardware remains with N.S.L Security Systems Ltd until full payment has been received in cleared funds.

2.5 Ownership and Equipment Removal. The hardware installed remains the property of N.S.L Security Systems Ltd until the installation is complete and full payment has been received. If the outstanding balance is not settled immediately upon completion of the work, N.S.L Security Systems Ltd reserves the right to remove the equipment without prior notice. By accepting the quotation and proceeding with the installation, you grant N.S.L Security Systems Ltd irrevocable permission to access the premises for the purpose of recovering its equipment if payment is not received in full. Such access will not be deemed trespass or criminal damage, as it forms part of these terms and conditions. Access to the system may be restricted, disabled, or denied until full payment has been received. By accepting the quotation, the client acknowledges and agrees that such entry for equipment recovery, in the event of non-payment, is lawful and authorised, and does not constitute unlawful interference or trespass.

2.6 Accepted Payment Methods. Payment may be made by cash or bank transfer. Payment must be completed before the engineer leaves the property. We do not accept cheques.

2.7 Late Payments. You are expected to settle all outstanding payments promptly. Where payment is not made by the due date, we reserve the right to charge statutory interest and compensation in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 (as amended). This interest is calculated at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, applied from the invoice date until payment is received. In addition, a late payment administration fee of £150 will be charged for each overdue invoice, to cover the additional time and costs incurred in recovering the debt. This is payable in addition to any statutory late payment compensation to which we are entitled. If you fail to settle the outstanding balance (including interest and fees), the matter may be referred to a debt recovery agent or solicitor, and you will be liable for all additional costs, including debt collection charges, legal fees, and court fees.
